Shaking Off Winter Blue, Revitalizing Spring Green with Qigong (Chee Gung)
Winter season is on the wane and suddenly spring is blooming! Our bodies are changing with the seasons and can impact well-being. Qigong means working with the body's energy to maintain optimal health and wellness. Come to this workshop to learn the meanings of seasons and colors while you practice slow moving and gentle exercises that can awaken and activate the healing power you naturally possess. Dress comfortably and be prepared to stand or sit to participate in these gentle exercises, ending with a short meditation.
Our Facilitor - Gloria Elder
Gloria Elder is the Deputy Director of Training at the Wholistic Stress Control Institute (WSCI) in Atlanta, GA. Gloria is an administrator, educator, social worker and a certified yoga instructor and Chi Gong Master. She has extensive expertise and experience in health and wellness programming, Early Childhood Education and administration. She conducts workshops for professionals, parents, seniors, and youth (pre-K- young adults) in the areas of stress and anger management, conflict resolution and early childhood education. Gloria received her undergraduate degree from Spelman College where she majored in Sociology and received her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Atlanta University. Ms. Elder is also a graduate of the Institute for Divine Wisdom’s School for Spiritual Awakening and she is Spring Forest Qigong Master. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her work with children and youth and families.
